Introduction to Computer Algebra and Programming
Spring, 1998

There are two parts to this course. The first part is an introduction to the computer algebra system Maple and how it can be used to solve mathematical problems. The second part is an introduction to computer programming. For the second part we will use the Java programming language. Maple
Here you will find information about Maple, copies of the Maple worksheets that are used in class during the lectures, and your Maple homework assignments (after they have been assigned).

Java
Here you will find information about Java, directions for using Java in the computer labs, directions for installing Java on your home computer, examples of Java code that we discuss in class, and your Java programming assignments (after they have been assigned).
